GridMeNow™ Used by Combined Special Ops Forces in 2012 Jackal Stone Exercise

ALEXANDRIA, VA (OCTOBER 12, 2012)– White Canvas Group (WCG) LLC from Alexandria, VA, in support to the U.S. Department of Defense and in collaboration with Information Systems Worldwide (i_SW), recently provided a secure customized version of its GridMeNow™ (GMN) technology during the Jackal Stone 2012 exercise in Croatia.

Jackal Stone is an annual joint special operations exercise designed to enhance capabilities and interoperability amongst the participating special operations forces as well as to build mutual respect while sharing doctrinal concepts, training concepts and various tactics, techniques, and procedures.

GridMeNow enabled operators to communicate, share, and use location-based reports to relay critical situational awareness information about operations in real-time.  GMN seamlessly connected decision makers with valuable information in order to make real-time decisions by leaders and geo-displaced operators.

“The ability for operators and dispersed leadership to see, in real-time, the operations unfolding from GridMeNow during Jackal Stone proved to be truly game-changing—enabling feedback loops to be closed in a matter of minutes,” said Tim Newberry, partner at White Canvas Group. ”It was an honor to participate and we look forward to contributing more at future events.”

About GridMeNow
GMN, a SmartPhone-based application, enables users to instantly send and receive texts, pictures, and video reports with geographic positions, and relay critical intelligence needed for decision making. Unlike traditional two-way radio or phone communications, GMN can provide the precise location of an incident and a picture of what is unfolding. It’s as easy to use as a cell phone, but provides the real-time, sophisticated data needed for command personnel to take timely and effective action. The only truly customizable solution of its kind, GMN is currently used by diverse clients, including a Federal Commission for emergency planning, Virginia Tech, the United States Naval Academy, various US defense organizations and Cotton, the global disaster solutions company.
